The first stage of the project was to build a house that serves as a residence for Sri Swamiji when he is visiting and as a meditation and program center. Here Sri Swamiji completed his first U.S. tapas. Future plans call for construction of a panchmurthy temple (temple to five deities) and lodging for visiting devotees. Donations are being accepted for this project and may be sent to the Sri Shivabalayogi Maharaj Charitable Trust, c/o Mrinal Singh, 111 East Franklin Street, Louisburg, NC 27549. Donations are tax-deductible. Current Programs: A meditation program is conducted every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at Ganesh Place. The program includes one-hour of dhyan, followed by bhajans, or live singing of Indian sacred folk music, and arthi to Sri Shivabalayogi. Following the program is prasad, or sacred food offerings, a vegetarian meal, and discussion. Programs are free. Weekend retreats are now being conducted at Ganesh Place approximately once every two months. Details will appear on this website, including registration information. Ganesh Place is presently open to the public only during specified programs. Devotees who wish to join the Wednesday meditation from their home locations may begin meditating at 7 p.m. and continue for an hour. Physical distance does not impede the spiritual connection.
